  • Recipe: Lavender Herbal Oil

Lavender calms, soothes and relaxes muscles while at the same time is uplifting. It is an anti- inflammatory, antispasmodic and antiseptic. Lavender helps to keep us well especially during the upcoming Fall and Winter months.

    Lavender Herbal Oil
~Dried Lavender Flowers (organic if possible)
~Extra Virgin Olive Oil (organic if possible)
    ~Glass Jar

You can buy dried lavender at a farmers market and take the flowers off yourself. If you do, save the stems for your fireplace to help start the fire and add a lavender scent. You can also buy just the dried lavender flowers, available through the link below.
Crush lavender flowers(a mortar and pestle works great for this), fill glass jar with lavender about 3/4 full, cover with extra virgin olive oil, make sure all lavender is covered with oil, close lid tightly. Store jar in a cool, dry and dark place for four weeks. Place an unbleached coffee filter or a piece of muslin in a funnel and filter the the oil to remove the lavender flowers. You now have an amazing lavender herbal oil.

    Uses:
~To bath water, add 2-3 teaspoons of lavender herbal oil to help relieve stress and to bring you back into balance and harmony.
~Oil your body with lavender herbal oil for added protection to keep you well. Since the skin is the largest organ of our body the herbal properties of the oil are absorbed through the skin helping to keep our bodies in a balanced state.

    Tips: Natural Window Cleaner

This is an effective and inexpensive window cleaner.

    In a spray bottle add:
    2 cups of water
    1/4 cup of white vinegar
a drop of dishwashing soap (a natural one is best)
optional: add a few drops of essential oil (orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit, or lavender)
    Shake ingredients in bottle

To clean windows, try a cotton rag as it absorbs the liquid and doesn't leave streaks.

I keep the telephone of my mind open to peace, harmony, health, love, and abundance. Then whenever doubt, anxiety, or fear try to calll me, they keep getting a busy signal, and soon they'll forget my number.
