Joan Morais Cosmetics School is an online Trade School in Cosmetic Formulation. We teach you to become a cosmetic formulator in formulating and making natural hair and skin care products. The programs are set up for you to start with us and grow with us. We offer Lifetime Course Access to the pro courses for you to be successful to start your own product line or work as a compounder or formulator in cosmetic manufacturing.

At Joan Morais Cosmetics School you will learn how to become a cosmetic formulator and how to formulate and make effective, safe, natural, organic, sustainable, plant-based, green, and clean beauty products. We are a trusted and established online school, formerly known as Joan Morais Naturals, established in 2003. We have thousands of students from all over the world in our programs. We have many students with successful natural hair and skin care businesses, some are our original students. We pride ourselves in our close relationship with our students and our continual connection, support, and network with each other.

The Formulators LAB was founded in 2020 by Joan Morais and her daughters, Michelle Morais and Brittney Morais to offer continual focused cosmetic formulation training.

It is online platform for modern formulators and makers to help develop and produce high quality, sustainable, green beauty, natural hair and organic skin care products. Whether you are just learning to formulate and make or have been formulating for a while, The Formulators Lab is designed to help you, the modern formulator, improve your cosmetic formulating and making skills.

We offer specialty classes focusing on a product you can easily launch and add to your line or make for your clients, yourself and friends, formulating lessons, live Q+A calls with Joan Morais, and expert guests with presentations from cosmetic industry experts.

Beauty from nature, green beauty is what Joan Morais is passionate about. In her natural hair and skin care courses, she uses sustainable, natural, and organic botanicals in the formulations.

Joan has always had an innate sense to use organic and plant-based products on herself and her three daughters when they were children. With her deep fascination for botanicals, herbs, flowers, sea plants and trees, she started her journey to be a medicinal herbalist. In her herbalism training she was fascinated with using botanicals on the skin and hair. Most homemade herbal products were greasy and didn’t feel good on the skin and hair. She started developing her own formulas for natural lotions, creams, and balms with botanical infusions with beneficial results for the skin and hair.

She continued her education in traditional healing modalities and healing plants. She created an herb garden growing herbs and plants with superior benefits for skin and hair. Next, she pursued cosmetic science and took courses and trained in chemistry and cosmetic chemistry. The result from all her training, she has a balance of nature and science. Because of her initial self-training with formulating and making natural hair and skin care products she teaches students to easily understand the science and art of cosmetic formulation.

Her passion is teaching others to formulate and make green and clean beauty, high-quality, plant-based, cruelty-free, and sustainable body, hair and skin care products.
