Brand Story of Beautify By Chana

Beautify By Chana is a plant-based company that has a mission to teach and help men, women and children how to grow and maintain healthy natural hair by boosting their self confidence that allows them to show up as a more empowered version of themselves in the world. Beautify By Chana also offers body care products, to help our customers maintain young and healthy looking skin.

What Inspired you to Make your own Products?

Back in 2017, most of my hair was falling out due to stress, especially my edges. I tried everything I could get my hands on in hopes to regain my confidence with my natural hair to no avail. In 2019, I started mixing up a few ingredients together with some essential oils in hopes for a change, and I used it on myself only. As time passed I continued adding ingredients to my oil, and realized that my edges were growing. That product is called The Miracle Growth Stimulator Hair Oil which is currently my #1 best selling product. That was my very first product. Once I was satisfied with the results, I became more eager to learn how to create other products and help others who were in the same position I once was. 

What was the Hardest part of Starting Beautify By Chana?

The hardest part of starting my business was to be able to find ingredients that would work for all hair types in formulating different hair products in order to ensure that it will actually serve its purpose to all customers. 

How did your Training at Joan Morais Cosmetics School help your Business?

This training at Joan Morais Cosmetics School was extremely helpful for myself and my business. I have expanded my knowledge and gained more confidence in the creation of my products. I am more self aware and have better judgment on ingredient uses and their purposes. 

What are you Most Proud of?

What makes me really proud is the testimony of my customers after using the products I have created with my own two hands. It really fulfills my heart to see my work bring joy to people who have struggled with their hair until they decided to trust my products.

What Equipment or Ingredients did you First Start out with?

When I first started my first ingredients were Indian powders such as Ayurvedic Herbs, and healing oils (Pure Haitian Castor Oil, Extract Virgin Olive Oil,Vitamin E & Essential Oils). The very first piece of equipment I bought was the fill-in machine to ease restocking oils in the bottles. 

What Advice would you give to someone looking to start their own Beauty Business?

My advice to anyone who wants to start a similar business, is to be confident. Be true to yourself, believe in yourself, create something that is pure of heart and do not compare yourself with anyone because your stories and struggles are not the same. 

Additionally, stay open to constructive criticism, and be prepared to learn from anyone that has advice for you. Believe that if you can see others create something great and beautiful, you can do it too.
