About Crie Natural

Crie Natural by Aminah Lawson is a line developed to cater to Salons that offer relaxer free and curly hair styling options. Our goal is to provide products that help simplify having natural hair. Our line is housed at our home salon Salon Crie: A Textured Hair Studio located in Downtown Greensboro, North Carolina.

What inspired you to make your own products?

I developed my line during a time when there weren’t many products on the market. I developed the line so I could have access to the products I needed to work on my Natural hair clients.

What was the hardest part of starting your business?

Getting clear on what I wanted to sell, and learning how to create a cohesive system.

Being a student of Joan Morais Cosmetic school has been one of my greatest accomplishments and I feel so much more equipped for the beauty industry.

What equipment or ingredients did you first start out with?

Hand mixer, and a lot of plant oils and butters.

How did your training at Joan Morais Cosmetics School help your business?

It gave me so much clarity regarding the development process which gave me greater confidence on how to build a product.

What are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of my ability to commit and not give up on this journey. Having a line of products and sticking to the journey can be tough but I haven’t given up, and for that I am proud.
