Superior Ingredients for Skin Care

When formulating skin care products it is important to select sustainable ingredients that will create an effective product. Below we go over superior ingredients that are plant-based, cruelty-free, and very effective.

Plant Stem Cells

Human and animal stem cells are the building blocks for cellular repair and regeneration in the person’s or animal’s body. Plant stem cells are also building blocks for repair and regeneration in the plant. Plants are some of the oldest organisms on earth. Using plant stem cells in skin care products help to stimulate collagen and improve skin elasticity.

Plant stem cells are found in the tissue of plants in the undifferentiated cells where growth occurs. These cells assist to keep the plant growing. These cells are able to continually divide. They are self-renewing, regenerative and are the place where the plant’s vitality begins. As a result, plant stem cells do not go through an aging process and they have the ability to grow into the plants tissues, organs and cells.

Since plants are stationary and cannot move, they must protect themselves from environmental strains. The plant preserves its life in its stem cells.

I use perilla (Perilla frutescens) plant stem cell in a Men’s cream formulation, this formulation is excellent for male or female. Perilla is also known as Chinese basil and has been used since ancient times. This herb is in the mint family. Perilla is a strong antioxidant and helps to soothe the skin. Perilla stem cell assists to delay aging and promote regeneration.

Plant Collagen

Collagen is in the under layer of the skin called the dermis. The dermis is the backbone of the skin. The dermis is a living structure of the skin and it supports the outer skin called the epidermis. Leather is the dermis of the cow, the cows under layer of skin. Collagen is a structural protein, the foundation for the strength and elasticity of the skin.

We want to maintain, nourish and support the dermis layer of our skin to keep our skin supple, radiant and slow the aging of our skin.

In cosmetic products, collagen helps to keep the skin supple and radiant. Collagen has been derived from cows until recently and now there is an option of collagen derived from plants. In my opinion, plant-based collagen is superior to bovine (cow) collagen. I use plant-based collagen in my formulations.

The Regenerating and Brightening Serum with Plant Collagen is in the Professional Natural Skin Care Course.

Peptides

Peptides are effective in skin care products. They help to reduce wrinkles and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the eye area and firm skin. In addition, peptides help to improve skin tone and reduce hyperpigmentation.

Peptides are a protein fragment. They send a signal to the cell to trigger a response to slow the process of skin aging. Peptides inhibit the enzyme activity responsible for degrading the skin’s integrity and forming wrinkles, loss of elasticity, tone, hyperpigmentation and spider veins/redness of the skin.

Peptides help with increasing the production of collagen and fibroblast proliferation. The peptides need to be small molecules in order to penetrate the skin and be effective.

The peptides used in the formulations in the Natural Professional Skin Care Formulation Course are derived from rice protein or yeast or probiotic.
