In Part One of our Beauty Trends blog based on the Google Beauty Trends Report 2017 we covered Rising Trends. Part Two we explored the top trending themes across international markets. In our final blog post, Part Three, on the top beauty trends we will be exploring themes to watch. These are searches that have been steadily growing in the past several years and are expected to continue to grow. The themes to watch are Devices, DIY, Bathing, and Men’s.

Devices

Consumers are looking for devices to aid in their beauty routine. In the U.S., the focus is on brushing and scrubbing. The top devices searched for include the following:

  • Body brush
  • Face scrubber
  • Face cleansing brush
  • Exfoliating brush
  • Deep cleansing brush
  • Back brush
  • Bath brush
  • Face brushes
  • Laser treatment

The experience of bathing is on the rise. American consumers are interested in creating a personalized bath experience that includes natural ingredients. Searches for bath bombs in particular have grown immensely each year. The following are the top bath searches in the U.S.

  • Apple cider vinegar bath
  • Homemade bath bombs
  • Bath bombs with rings
  • DIY bath bomb
  • Pokeball bath bombs
  • Coconut oil bath

Initially searches were focused on “men’s skin care”, but now they are becoming more focused, searching for specific products for face, lotion, etc.

Here are the top searches for Men’s skin care in the U.S.

  • Men’s facial
  • Men’s soap
  • Men’s face cream
  • Men’s face moisturizer
  • Facial cleanser for men
