Organic Baby Skin Care

Baby Skin Care

Baby Skin

A baby’s skin is pure, sensitive and delicate. The baby has been in the mother’s protective womb and then suddenly the baby’s skin is exposed to the atmosphere and the environmental elements. There are many baby skin care products on the market now. Many of these products claim to be “natural,” however they may still contain harsh ingredients. Read below to learn more about baby skin and the best ingredients for baby skin products.

About

A newborn baby is born with wrinkly skin and a protective layer called the vernix. This vernix will naturally fall off during the first week. Avoid rubbing or removing this layer. Newborns have thin and sensitive skin compared to mature adult skin. Because of the thinness, this can make baby skin prone to bacterial growth and irritation.

Choose Natural & Organic Ingredients

Products applied to a baby’s skin should be minimal, very mild and made from natural ingredients, especially baby products that do not rinse off and stay on the skin. Products that stay on the skin can easily irritate a baby’s skin especially if there are harsh ingredients in it. It is best to use baby products made with the highest quality of natural ingredients and organic whenever possible and containing no harsh ingredients.

Baby Skin Care Products should match the natural pH of baby skin. This will help promote the formation of acid mantle.

Plant Oils

Plant oils also called vegetable oils and carrier oils provide rich nourishment,  protection and lubrication. The best plant oils are the least processed, organic, cold pressed and unrefined. The oils listed here are suitable and gentle for  babies and children.

Organic Camellia Seed Oil is an excellent choice. This is a lightweight oil but very nourishing that can help calm baby skin. This oil wont clog pores and will absorb nicely into the delicate skin of a baby.

Or try these Organic plant oils: Almond, Apricot, Avocado, Jojoba, Olive, Sunflower.
