Looking at the trending themes of masks and ingredients, the top concerns are about healing and treating skin, particularly when it comes to acne. For consumers, ingredients matter when it comes to their skin care products, particular their masks.
Turmeric
As noted in our first blog post on skin care trends, Turmeric Mask was one of the top Sustained Risers in the U.S. and it pops up as a top trending ingredient. Turmeric contains curcumin and is known for its anti-inflammatory and healing properties. It has been used thousands of years to treat various skin diseases.
Here is a quick and easy mask containing turmeric that you can make at home:
Turmeric Glow Mask
1/8 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon mashed banana
1 teaspoon ground flaxseed
Combine all three ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Apply evenly to face and leave on for 15-20 minutes. Wash off with warm water and a washcloth.
Enjoy the glow!
