Joan Morais Cosmetics School is an online Trade School in Cosmetic Formulation. We teach you to become a cosmetic formulator in formulating and making natural hair and skincare products. The programs are set up for you to start with us and grow with us. We offer Lifetime Course Access to the Pro Courses to continually support you to be successful, starting your own hair or skin line, working as a compounder or formulator in cosmetic formulation.

We are a trusted and established online school. We have thousands of students from all over the world in our programs. Many of our original students still have successful natural hair and skin care businesses. We pride ourselves in our close relationship with our students and our continual connection, and network with each other.

The Formulators LAB was founded in 2020 by Joan Morais and her daughters to offer continual focused cosmetic formulation training.

For modern formulators and makers to launch new innovative products to their line and produce high quality, sustainable, green beauty, hair and skincare products. We offer individual formulation classes focusing on one product you can easily launch and add to your line or make for your clients, yourself, and friends.

We are women owned, mother and daughters' team, and strive to provide excellent customer service and training in a format that is easy to learn and understand. We assist students to be successful as formulators and makers of natural and organic skin and hair products.

Born and raised on the island of Kaua‘i, Hawai‘i, she first lived at the Olokele Sugar Mill in Kaumakani and later in Kalaheo near the majestic Mt. Wai‘ale‘ale. Joan’s early exposure to the aroma and healing power of plants laid the foundation for her lifelong dedication to green beauty. Her deep respect for nature is reflected in every course, formulation, and mentorship she provides.

She is a certified herbalist and aromatherapist, trained in Ayurvedic principles and cosmetic chemistry, and a member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists.
