OUR FORMULATING PHILOSOPHY IS:

We formulate with naturally derived plant-based ingredients using the 12 principles of green chemistry. The ingredients are cruelty free, sustainable, and renewable, from the seed to plant, processing of a cosmetic ingredient, to the product wash off, down the drain and into the waterways. The only exception to this is when a natural ingredient is not yet available or available in small purchase amounts for the modern formulator. When using necessary non-natural ingredients, we use the smallest amount possible. We have always done the best we can using natural ingredients and serving our students needs.
We follow the EU’s stringent regulations and formulate without 1400+ ingredients banned from cosmetics. Plus, we use preservatives approved by EU standards for use in natural and organic products. Our formulas are 100% vegan and cruelty-free.
The preservatives we use are food-based and approved for use in natural formulations.
Sustainability is a core value of ours, it guides the choices we make in every formulation. Sustainability meets the needs of the present without a destructive impact to people, animals, and the planet. In return, it promotes the ability of future generations to meet their needs.
The only exception to this is when a natural ingredient is not yet available or available in small purchase amounts for the modern formulator. To serve our students, we will use the current ingredient available. For example, the Edge Control formulation, there are currently no natural ingredient substitutions. Our students have asked us many times for a Traditional Edge Control, and we listened and formulated an excellent edge control for them.

Our love for plants is deep-rooted in our formulations. We use plant derived ingredients.

Animal ingredients and animal derived ingredients, mineral oil, petroleum-based, paraffin, silicones, parabens, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), formaldehyde, formaldehyde-releasing agents, microplastic beads, butylene glycol and propylene glycol from acetaldehyde, diethanolamine (DEA), EDTA
Motivated By Years of Expertise
We have been leaders in natural formulations for 20 years. There is a difference developing a formulation for a private client compared to our student. We strive to meet the needs of our students from all over the world. Ingredients must be available in small purchase amounts for our students. It is cost prohibitive for our students to purchase pales or drums of only one ingredient. The formulations need minimal ingredients and be stable and effective and perform well on the skin and hair.
