Which Serum is Best for your Hair?
It is important to pick the right serum for your hair type. Do you have dull or dry hair? Frizzy or thick hair? Are you looking for a serum to help repair hair breakage?
Hair serums can be oil based or water based. A formulator should consider incorporating some or all of these ingredients in a serum formulation; minerals, vitamins, plant keratin, plant silicone, plant protein and UVA protectants.
Oil based serums work well for textured hair, coarse hair, curly hair and kinky hair. The oil helps nurture, protect and add shine.
Water based serums are great for all hair types. They are lighter than oil serums, have a gel-like consistency and a silky feel.

The Pro Natural Hair Course teaches two hair serum formulations. These formulations have plant extracts that provide the silky feel of silicone without the build-up on the hair. What Makes these Hair Serum Formulations Different?
Most hair serums on the market are made with dimethicone. Dimethicone is not approved as a natural ingredient. It is hard to replicate that same silky soft feel dimethicone imparts on hair with plant based ingredients but it can be done with plant silicons. The serum formula in the Pro Natural Hair Course, Straightening & Smoothing Styling Serum and Oil-Free Glossy Locks & Curls Serum, are packed with all kinds of hair nutrients and very similar to serums with dimethicone.
